Spar is convenience store franchise which became one of Roadchef's partners in June 2015. Large stores are being built as part of significant refurbishments to their core services.

Their return to motorway services actually started with one store at Rivington, thanks to an existing deal with Euro Garages.

In the early 2000s, Roadchef had another trial arrangement with Spar, but that one wasn't successful and was withdrawn.

At forecourts, Spar have their own corporate sites, which are run under the name 'Blakemore Retail' (formerly 'Tates') and usually use Texaco and Shell fuel. They have brand partnerships with Subway and Greggs.

For a while, a lot of Spar stores, including the former store at the petrol station at Bolton West, had an own-branded coffee machine called Censa. This has since been replaced across the Spar network by Costa Express and Starbucks on the Go.
