Mace is a convenience store chain owned by Costcutter, but they were formerly owned by Palmer & Harvey (P&H), a wholesale distributor of snack foods who also supply a number of the main motorway service area operators.
Mace franchise the Mace store at a number of A-road services.
In 2000, Mace entered a trial with Little Chef, using the name 'Mace c-store' at two of their motorway sites. This was withdrawn.
