[[Knickerbox]], [[BHS Express]] and [[The Sock Shop]] are similar stores which had been introduced and then removed again in the early 2000s. Cotton Traders seemed to show service stations cautiously moving back towards becoming retail destinations.


10 years on from the introduction of Cotton Traders, a few of their stores have started closing during 2019 proving that the idea of specialist shops at service areas is slowly fading out.
After more than 10 years, in 2019 some service station Cotton Traders stores closed to make space for other units.
