Parking Prices
Short stay parking is available for cars at all facilities, with restrictions in each parking area:
Parking and use of the filling station is limited to 30 minutes maximum stay and is strictly enforced by Euro Car Parks.
Parking in the Costa car park is limited to 3 hours maximum stay and is strictly enforced whilst parking in the McDonald's car park is limited to 90 minutes maximum stay and is strictly enforced by UK Parking Control.
The HGV parking area is currently closed due to maintenance issues.

Trivia and History
This land had been planned to become a motel and restaurant in 1974, but this was refused and the land remained in agricultural use.
The service area was proposed by BP in 2020. They intended it to have a forecourt with an M&S Simply Food, alongside the Costa and McDonald's, and ample HGV parking, all accessed from different arms of a new roundabout. The farmhouse was demolished to create the charging infrastructure
The service area was opened in May 2023 by MFG, just a year after MFG abandoned a nearby service area at Gristhwaite, which they also knew as "Thirsk". This new site is widely promoted as 'Thirsk services', although McDonald's call it 'Oakfield Truck Park' and BP sometimes call it 'Sowerby'.
North Yorkshire Council provided new road signs on the A19 northbound, the A170 outbound and, strangely, even on the roundabout itself, but National Highways have not provided any acknowledgement of the facility from their trunk roads.
The HGV parking area opened with the filling station in May 2023 and was a great success, but due to maintenance issues it was closed later in the summer. It is currently unknown when the parking area will reopen.
