The name Just A Minute was a takeaway burger bar created by Rank in the late 1980s, as part of an overhaul of all their internal branding.
Until then, some Rank service areas had a takeaway counter branded 'Highway Express'. Just A Minute was designed to look fresher and carry fewer motorway connotations, in an era where their rivals were also rolling out burger bars. The emblem was a forefinger next to a speech-mark uttering the name.
Just A Minute was rolled out to most, if not all, Rank sites, including the A-road sites.
After Rank was sold to Pavilion in 1991, the old trademarks had to be removed within a few months. The Just A Minute units became Pavilion Snack Cafe, and were later refurbished to have a more enclosed seating area.
