Membury is built on the site of the old RAF Membury airfield. There is a tribute to those who served there in World War II in the car park.

The service area can be identified from afar by the large transmitting signal situated next to it.

Inside is a mural painted by David Fisher, who was recruited by Forte to paint one for most of their services. More of Forte's actions are listed in Membury's history.

When leaving the westbound services, there is a sign saying "Your next Welcome Break is: Michaelwood (56 Miles) Gordano (56 Miles)". This is unique to any other Welcome Break services.
