Cotton Traders is a clothes shop which began as a mail order service in 1987 and was introduced to Strensham services in 2008. It was then introduced to more service stations as part of brand's plans to expand away from town centres.
The concept of shops which sell something other than snacks and groceries has had a rocky road at service stations. Knickerbox, BHS Express and The Sock Shop are similar stores which had been introduced and then removed again in the early 2000s. Cotton Traders seemed to show service stations cautiously moving back towards becoming retail destinations.
After more than 10 years, in 2019 some service station Cotton Traders stores closed to make space for other units. This was later followed by further closures in 2020 following the COVID-19 lockdown.
