Trivia and Design

The Starbucks and Subway here are provided in lower-level extensions, beneath the bridge staircase. This takes up the area which had been used as a restaurant for a while, after the main dining area moved off the bridge.
Camelot Theme Park, which has been closed since 2012, is situated next to the service area and its rides are visible from it - though it is not easily accessed from here. Curiously, the theme park was previously owned by Granada, as part of their theme park division.
Charnock Richard is a classic example of an American-inspired bridge-restaurant service area; one of the oldest in the country. It was picked out of several options.
