Trivia and History
The roundabout at Bicker Bar was built in the 1980s. Lawlor Land began planning the service area in 1992.
The hotel opened as Friendly Hotels in around 1993. It became the Comfort Inn, and in 2010 it became Supreme Inns. Between 2003 and 2006, a large truckstop was proposed on the field opposite this service area, but ultimately it wasn't built.
The forecourt opened as a Pace filling station operated by Malthurst. In around 2008, the filling station was rebranded to Texaco and a Star Market store was added. MRH rebranded the site to Esso in 2011.
