Pavilion's Snack Cafe was the sole takeaway brand, created to replace Rank's Just A Minute. Like its predecessor, some sites had a counter only, while others had a dedicated seating area sectioned off from its surroundings.
A refurbishment was carried out within the first few years. Some red neon "cafe" signs were added, and green dividers and globe lamps were placed in the dining area. There were cartoon chef graphics applied to the building, inside and out. It sold a full breakfast for £3.99 (worth around £8 in 2025), bacon bun £1.95 (about £4), sandwiches from £2.15 (around £4) and chips for 90p (£2).
When Granada took over, the space was utilised by some of their favourite brands. Larger sites became Little Chef.
