Trivia and History

Worsted Lodge was a building on a crossroads on the old A11, which had a filling station which dates back to at least the 1930s beside it. A malthouse behind it became a garage in the 1950s, and is the petrol station which is there today.
The canopy and shop kiosk were added by Jet in 1973.
When the A11 was upgraded in 1993, this narrow section of the road was by-passed. The filling station now sits on the old road, which meets the new road after a short distance.
The site went on to become branded Texaco until summer 2016, when it was sold to Harvest Energy. Harvest Energy later teamed up with TotalEnergies in Autumn 2021 and rebranded to site to TotalEnergies.
There are plans to install two InstaVolt electric vehicle charging points here.
