Trivia and History
Despite not being properly signposted from the road, this site was referred to by Total as 'Wisbech services'. It was added to Ordnance Survey maps as a full service area in 2014.
The site was developed by Norfolk House in the late 1980s, with a Kelly's Kitchen and Fina filling station opening at the Lynn Road junction of the Wisbech bypass in late 1989. The restaurant was soon taken over by Forte who turned it into a Little Chef in October 1990. A Burger King franchise was later added in 1998 but later closed in 2005.
The Little Chef restaurant was one of the first to close under R Capital in January 2012, with the building later being acquired by Euro Garages in late 2012. Euro Garages converted the building into a new Starbucks store, with the new store opening on 19 April 2013. They also later converted the former Burger King space into a Subway store in late 2016.
The forecourt changed from Fina to Total in the early 2000s, and was later acquired by Shell in 2012 following Total's nationwide shutdown.
The forecourt closed in December 2025 for redevelopment works and is set to reopen in February 2026. Works include new fuel tanks and pumps along with a sales building extension to add new toilet facilities and storage areas.
