The Sock Shop (Jumper Ltd) used to be found at most Moto services in the early 2000s. It was one of many retail brands to agree to work with Granada in the late 1990s, as part of their shopping centre concept.
The Sock Shop's stores consisted of small units at service stations, railway stations, airports and city centres. It was created by a former Tie Rack director.
The market for motorway drivers who need to buy socks may not seem significant, but Granada were clear that there was high demand for shopping facilities. The Sock Shop was later removed from Moto's services to make way for more profitable brands such as M&S Simply Food.
