Trivia and History
The forecourt was developed by Hardys of Telford in 1994. It opened as a Gulf forecourt, but was sold to Shell in around 1998. From this point, it was known as 'Stirchley services', with signs to that effect at the entrance, and a sign on the Queensway.
The constrained site was built with an unusual layout, whereby cars need to do almost a full lap before refuelling. If you factor in the fact it's only signed as a service area from the southbound side, the entry involves 540 degrees of looping.
