Trivia and History
Plans for a service area on the A31 Farnham Bypass were first proposed by BP in 1988, initially being refused but later approved on appeal in 1989. Despite planning permission being approved, the site didn't actually materialise until 2001, utilising land from the former site of a water works which dates back to at least the mid-1800s.
The site became a BP Connect site in 2008, gaining a M&S Simply Food store and Wild Bean Café offering.
