El Mexicana is an informal restaurant aiming to replicate the food of traditional Mexican street vendors. Ordering is broken down into several sections: the dish, the filling, the salsa and side orders.
Stands are provided at several Extra service areas. Moto added an El Mexicana unit to Reading to increase the range of catering options available there: this became Moto's only attempt with the brand and it closed in 2021.
El Mexicana revealed their new sister dessert brand, Don Churro, in April 2021. This was introduced to Cobham in November, where it offers churros, milkshakes and ice cream alongside the existing El Mexicana menu. While Don Churro is promoted as a full brand in its own right, on the motorway it is served from within the main El Mexicana stand.
