Trivia and History
The land was previously used by Raceland for go-karting. The go kart centre themselves applied to turn the land into a service area. This was taken forward by EG Group, but following their own issues, it was delayed and eventually opened in August 2024 as one of the first EG On The Move-branded sites.
The full vision allowed for KFC, Starbucks and McDonald's drive thru units, all in one catering area at the end of the spine road. This would have been one of the first times EG Group had worked with McDonald's. At the other end, there is space to develop warehouses. Following EG Group's sale of their KFC franchise, plans are now in place for Popeyes to take that drive thru unit instead.
Works are also currently ongoing to add four EV On The Move EV chargers and three jet wash bays to the site.
