11th May

The 11th May was day 114 of the M27 Widening roadworks, and it looks like work is starting on the verges. Here's what it looked like:

For a change, let's join the road westbound from J12. Right now we're in the middle of the trumpet.

Merging with the traffic now. Does that national speed limit sign count or not?

In the works, it's hard to see but there has been some progress on the verge.

A gap for works vehicles to exit gives us a chance to take a sneaky look at the progress here.

And another one. That fence is to reduce the noise pollution for local residents, whose gardens actually back on to the road. It will have to be moved back soon.

My best attempt at photographing the temporary barrier stuck in the middle of the permanent one. In turns out that it is filling the gap until a proper liftable barrier is installed, meaning that in the event of a serious incident traffic can be allowed to change directions.

Nearly at J11, so it's the end of the roadworks.
