The MSA Operators Committee is an offshoot of the British Hospitality Association which represents the views of some (but not all) of the motorway service area operators. The director is usually a senior employee of one of its members.
The organisation was formed in the 1960s. The committee holds forum meetings to discuss mutual problems in the industry.
Amusingly, the MSA Operators Committee was contacted by the media in 1983, but it "couldn't give any definite examples" of the committee solving any issues. It has since responded to several government consultations on behalf of the industry.
