Trivia and History

There used to be a place called Green Tiles, which was redeveloped into the large hotel visible by the eastbound side of the road. A filling station joined it later. That filling station gained official signage, but this was removed in 2012.

The westbound petrol station was built in the 1950s by Station Supreme. It has previously been operated by Snax 24, who later merged with Rontec. The shop was formerly branded Mace, and changed to Rontec's own-brand Shop'N Drive in 2016.

The Hornchurch branch of Little Chef was positioned just to the east of here, on the Londonbound side. It opened in around 1970 and closed in 2002.

bp installed 3 bp pulse electric vehicle charging points on the eastbound side in early 2021.
