Waitrose Convenience store at Michaelwood Southbound, situated left of the main entrance next to WHSmith. Like Northbound’s, it was built into an extension, and has undoubtedly taken much of WHSmiths trade. It opened in around 2010 and is one of the smaller Waitrose stores Welcome Break operate. Selling premium snacks & travel essentials, Waitrose has a similar job to M&S food stores at Moto sites. They attract certain road users off the motorway. Waitrose is signposted from the M5, but remained very quiet during my visit. Waitrose provides the site’s StarbucksOnTheGo machine.
