Pizza Express restaurant at Cobham, located between the amenity building and Ramada motel. It’s a large restaurant and the 2nd of its kind at Cobham along with Nando’s. Pizza Express opened here in March 2019 serving customers Italian classics. The menu is identical to that of a high st PizzaExpress, however, it’s slightly more expensive here due to its proximity to the motorway. Chain restaurants, such as this, seem odd to implement at motorway services as most customers want to quickly stop for a coffee or expect fast food, making Cobham appear more like a destination. PizzaExpress is situated in an extension, thus didn’t replace anything. This restaurant is operated by Welcome Break, who own Pizza Express’s at a few other Extra sites & some sites of their own. The interior of this Pizza Express wasn’t photographed but is decorated with wooden laminate/mosaic flooring, spotlights & marble tables, traditional of Pizza Express restaurants. Pizza Express was fairly busy during my visit, as was the entirety of Cobham services due to last minute Xmas traffic. PizzaExpress has never been signposted from the M25, but is advertised several times around the site and is included on the totem pole. Like Nando’s, Pizza Express is very obvious from the front of the amenity building so customers wouldn’t miss it anyway.
