M&S convenience store at Cobham, situated opposite the seating area between KFC and the gaming arcade (an obvious location). It opened when the amenity building did in 2012 and is operated by Moto, with Extra leasing the unit space. The “shop” lineup at Cobham is identical to most Moto sites and, although expensive, M&S always provides a wide range of quality products. Selling lunches and snacks, M&S nicely caters for those wanting cold food or something for the journey. The prices are slightly inflated compared to high street branches. It does have competition with WHSmith as they both serve a similar purpose, but M&S is typically valued as a premium brand, means they attract slightly different customers. Moto using M&S, along with Extra sites having them, such as here, makes M&S a recognisable name on the motorway. It’s already common to find at Network Rail stations, suggesting M&S Simply Food stores are widespread within the transport sector. This M&S does NOT obtain a coffee machine like some, such as nearby at Beaconsfield. M&S was fairly busy during my visit due to me travelling two days before Xmas. M&S is signposted from the M25, suggesting it’s one of Cobhams core brands, as only a fraction of them can be displayed on the motorway signage. M&S is also frequently advertised around the site and is included on all totem poles at Cobham.
