Communal seating available at Moto’s newest site, Rugby. Possibly the most impressive internal seating area at any motorway services. The large glass frontage of the amenity building means sunlight floods into the seating area, making it bright and pleasant on sunny days. There is additional outdoor seating at Rugby with water features. It’s evident that Moto took inspiration of their Wetherby and Cherwell Valley sites when it came to designing Rugby. I love the grey ceiling beams at Rugby, they must be so difficult to clean around but look spotless. During my visit, Rugby was busy so this seating area was in high demand, but the great quantity of seats and tables available means it copes well when busier, which is essential for customer satisfaction as customers won’t want to stand/eat in the car. There’s additional customer seating next to Costa. Moto included a children’s soft play area at the end of this seating area, making Rugby highly suited for families. The inside of Rugby feels very spacious with its high ceiling and spaced out units (unlike Extra sites which cram as many facilities in as possible, Rugby has fewer facilities but well-chosen ones with lots of space/seating around them). Overall, it’s a very futuristic seating area, just hope that Moto keep to their high standards at Rugby as, architecturally, it’s impressive and it’s current cleanliness is immaculate, which makes for a nice customer experience here.
