From this photo, it’s clear that Michaelwood is situated in a strip of woodland given the large sums of vegetation surrounding each building. The footbridge costed £3.2 million & caused the closure of the M5 on the July 2nd 2022 (day of replacement). It opened for public use the following October. It replaced a 40 year old bridge which could no longer be used due to “safety reasons”. There’s large ramps and stairs both sides and the bridge is much more sturdy. It’s good they reinstated the idea of a footbridge at Michaelwood.
