Brechin services was a Little ChefHistory restaurant and official service station positioned on the A90 south-westbound. It could be accessed from the A90 north-eastbound via a gap in the central reservation.
The restaurant opened in around 1981 and lasted until 2007, when it was closed as it was one of the quieter sites. When it closed, the road signs were taken down and never put back up. Even so, it was taken over by Troy's Diner, which closed after a year.
It was then taken over by The Bervie Chipper, a local company with a number of restaurants, who refurbished it in 2013 and arranged for the site to gain a brown tourist information sign on the southbound side, advertising the site as a 'restaurant', which is more in line with signage policy. The restaurant closed again in 2015 and was left abandoned until 2017, when it was purchased by Bonnybreich Coffee Bothy.
Bonnybreich Coffee Bothy closed in 2020, and the building was bought by Perth-based ethical investment firm CAM Ventures. They carried out a £50,000 refurbishment and reopened it as the Angus Grill and Larder in November 2021. The new restaurant is their first bricks and mortar development, and it claims to offer family-friendly dining that showcases local food and drink producers. A fenced dog walking area was later added, with a children's play area and electric vehicle charging points also proposed.
